I missed What I Wore Wednesday last week as were about to head off to beautiful Donegal. Northern Ireland has an extra public holiday on 12th July and it’s generally extended to include the 13th July, in fact many places just shut down for the full week. The purpose of this holiday is to celebrate what my (Scottish) husband terms the “bigot parades” so we tend to evacuate.

It does make me sad that even after 18 years away from Belfast and while so many things have changed the mindless violence and ignorance surrounding 12 July haven’t, not to mention the cost of policing and cleaning up afterwards which could be spent on so healthcare or education.

Anyway, onto lovelier things, specifically clothes and my first What I Wore Wednesday on my new look, newly transferred to WordPress blog.

At the beginning of July I travelled to London with small girl, smaller boy and the lovely Amanda (our super duper nanny) for a  photo shoot for Mother and Baby magazine as part of a feature we will be appearing in.

We had such a lovely time and even though on paper it sounded absolutely insane ,a day trip to London with 2 toddlers , it worked out perfectly and is deserving of its own blogpost.

It was a day filled with lots (and lots) of travel so comfort and ease was the key along with dark colours to avoid the inevitable mucky hands, unsurprisingly it was also raining.

I wore olive baxter jeans from Topshop, an Isabella Oliver Essential Extra Long T along with French Sole ballet flats (old) and a super snakeskin scarf as found by Kat from Does My Bum Look 40 in This? which I had to copy as I am (a) incapable of original though and (b) I am meant to be spending a frugal July and Mr Belfast Mummy is none the wiser that this was new as it was thrown into the trolley along with the food shopping. The bag is from J Crew and was a present from one of Mr Belfast Mummy’s trips. I did not travel this lightly there was also a pull along cabin bag.

A little sneak peak of us below, in what was quite possibly the most amazing kitchen I have ever seen.

As always, thank you to Transatlantic Blonde for hosting, and check out her rather fabulous new badge below.

Your new blog looks great!  I have to confess being a ‘copyKat’ myself as I bought that scarf too after seeing it on Kat’s blog.  I love the way you’ve coordinated it with the olive trousers.  As it happens, I was just eying up khaki Leigh jeans (I am obsessed with Leigh jeans) to go with it on Topshop website today. Very exciting news about the magazine feature; any idea when you and the lovely kiddies will be appearing?

Ha, love the copyKat :) must try on a pair of Leigh jeans. I think my jeans are actually khaki but I think oliver sounds a bit nicer. Will do a post about the magazine. x
