Belfast Mummy is Back

Posted in Life.

I’ve had a rather lengthy break from my blog, a break that may have been a tiny bit longer than the months I actually spent writing it. Life just seemed to get in the way, although in my defence, we did move house, which was slightly  more stressful than anticipated due to a few last minute hiccups.

If I am being completely honest I also admit to being slightly bit bored of my blog, my weekly  meal planning and what I wore posts were beginning to feel like homework and if I was boring myself with it I’m sure it wasn’t fascinating reading for anyone else.

I was bamboozled by  stats and page views, while twitter and I got along like a house on fire I never really clicked with facebook, not to mention Google+,  was I supposed to sign up to Britmums or Tots100 or both? The more tips and advice  I read the more baffling it became and it seemed more and more like a full time slog and jolly hard work rather than an enjoyable hobby.

But during the break I missed my blog, in the short time since it started the opportunities it afforded were amazing from a trip to London for a photo shoot with Mother and Baby magazine to a page 2 feature in the Daily Telegraph and developing a lovely relationship with Fish is the Dish. Perhaps best of all, I made the most wonderful friend who read my blog and realised our children were in the same Jo Jingles class, we bonded over cake our mutual love of homewares.

So I’ve decided to start again, I’m only going to write about the things that I love, I’m not going to make it feel like homework, I would like it to have more of a local slant and ultimately the world won’t collapse if I continue on my merry luddite way.
